The federal government has reopened after a 43-day shutdown, which had disrupted SNAP benefit disbursements.
Brooke Rollins, U.S. Agriculture Secretary, announced that full SNAP benefits should be restored by Monday at the latest for most recipients.
The federal agency, United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), issued guidance to states instructing them to immediately resume issuance of full November allotments and combine November & December allotments for newly certified applicants after Nov 15. Read more
